Effective date: 5 June 2026
Little Ember (“the app”, “we”, “us”) is a baby-sleep aid that turns your phone screen into a red light that gradually fades to black, with optional white noise. This policy explains exactly what the app does and does not do with your information.
Little Ember does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data. The app works entirely offline on your device. It contains no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and no third-party data-collection SDKs. It does not require an account and never connects to the internet.
None. We do not collect any personal or sensitive user data.
The app saves two small preferences — your last-used fade duration
and whether white noise was switched on — using your device’s
local storage (AsyncStorage). This information:
Little Ember requests only what it needs to work, and uses each permission purely on your device:
| Capability | Why it is used | Leaves your device? |
|---|---|---|
| Change screen brightness (app-scoped) | Brighten the screen for the red light, then dim as it fades | No |
| Play audio | Play the optional bundled white-noise sound | No |
| Keep the screen awake | Prevent the screen from locking during a fade | No |
| Play audio in the background | Continue white noise if you switch apps during a fade | No |
The app does not use the camera, microphone (audio recording is disabled), location, contacts, files, or any network/internet permission.
We do not share any data with third parties, because we do not collect any.
Little Ember is a tool intended to be set up and operated by parents and other adults. It is not directed to children, and it does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children. Because the app collects no data at all, no personal information from children is ever gathered.
Because no data is collected or transmitted, there is no personal data for us to lose, leak, or misuse. Your saved preferences remain solely on your device.
If this policy changes, we will update the effective date above and post the revised policy at the same URL.
